This peace lily belongs to my Mom and was received at a funeral. I have read all the posts here I could find regarding peace lilies and I'm still unsure of how to proceed.

I believe the problem was over-watering. Approximately 10 days ago, I repotted the lily. The root ball seemed to be intact so I shook off the loose dirt and placed it into fresh potting soil.

Upon the advice of the lady at the local nursery, I watered it a bit to settle it in and she felt a regular watering routine would solve the problem.

Early this week, a well-meaning neighbor watered it for Mom so the same old problem continues except this plant is looking sicker all the time.

What do you all think - repot again? rinse the roots? I have read some advice to put it in gravel - what do you think about that?

With the collective wisdom we have on here, I am confident this plant can still be saved. Thanks in advance for you help!
