Might be something up with my Calathea

So I have had this guy for about 7-8 months... it really hasn't gotten much growing done. I have been worried about this plant since I have got it. So far it has had dead leaves for me to pick off near the bottom, but what has now worried me, is one of the new growth leaves shriveled up (pictured) before it even unraveled. Also the unraveled leaves that are still a lively color, have been sitting like that for what would seem a few weeks. I water it every time the soil feels dry/damp (if my pointer finger to knuckle deep in soil feels dryness) I water... so far I have only fertilized it 2 times since I have had it, and very far apart from each other. I will also post a couple of more pictures in other comments (unless if you can post multiple photos in one post, I just don't see it) I will show you where it sits, it is at a western faced window, not in the window, but more on the side of it, it is also a double window, so there is more light coming in from there too. Is it still sitting too close? I had it further away before, but it just didn't seem very happy. The other picture I will post, the leaves that are actually unravelled, have crispy edges, or are rolling under. What can I do to make this guy happy? Thanks!
