How do i get rid of spider mites on my ivy's for good!

I have 2 ivy's that sit on my coffee table. They get covered in those horrible spider mites. Every week i have to take my ivy's in the shower and spray them with an insecticide/fungicide (bayer). Then they are fine for a little while and then those blasted spider mited come back!
How can i get rid of them for good?

For good, a 10 mile wide asteroid splashing down nearby at 40,000 miles per hr. Otherwise get a better miticide. Avid or Florimite will give weeks if not months of control. There are many other good miticides to chose from. One wk is totally unacceptable. Even oil will do better than that.

Look on Ebay for smaller quantities if the big bottles for a couple hundred are too much.
