First of all, the coloration on this plant is incredible! I've never seen them with that type of light new growth on what otherwise looks to be the straight green-leafed species.

I think Meyer Mike, a member here, had a similar plant....although his might have been the reverse variegation of the type usually found.

So, to answer your question, this is Portulacaria afra "Elephant's [Food] Bush," aka Spekboom is South Africa.

It is not closely related to the Jade plant. They are in different taxonomic Orders entirely.

Josh, do you think this could this happen if one took a P. afra plant used to significant direct sun and suddenly put it inside where this is no direct sun? If it's some type of cultivar, I absolutely NEED one!
