That's beautiful, horse! Do you summer it outside?

thanks Jonniesilvs it stays inside year round i placed it in sunlight to take pictures if left in direct sunlight the leaves would get scorched the plant is used to bright indirect sunlight

i have a much bigger ficus tree that i summer outside it's in basement during winter and its leafing out there's barley in light in the basement although it did drop most of its outside summer leaves

Very nice large benjamina (last 2 pictures). Maybe tapla will post pictures of all his ficus (ficii?) for us. I'm getting terribly interested in this genus, but I only have small ones right now. Just took delivery on Foliage Pro, so I should be getting off on a better foot. Tapla, are you there? Would love to see all your fig trees.

Wow...that's a tall order! LOL

I seriously doubt you could get all his trees in one shot even with a panoramic lens!

The guy has more varieties of ficus than many of us even know exist!

As Al is a bonsai enthusiast,his trees are always a joy to behold as he guides them on their journey to become the trees that they one day could be as opposed to what they would be without his direction. :)

my other ficus tree this one is in the basement too shed most its leaves waiting for summer to put it back out

Rubber banding it like that is pretty clever by the way. lol

yeah that is black magic does not do well in only water should be potted with soil then placed into pond

my newest ficus plant picked it up at home depot today for about $4 bucks

I tend to do that too...the whole three for the price of one(in your example).

I've got a bit of black magic myself...curious if you've still got yours and if so what are it's current conditions? How are you overwintering it?

no i dont have black magic anymore threw it out

i could've kept it if i wanted its easy to care for when i brought it indoors i had it in a glass jar responds very well to grow lights put it under grow light and it will put out new leaves fast change water every week if you want black leaves put it by a sunny window

i never had mine in soil i think the plant will do much better with soil under water like outdoors

Read somewhere that they could be stored in like tubs of water or something. Hmmm.
Right now mine are in a bag that's tied off and set next to a fluorescent lamp and that's holding 'em for now,but what I really mean to do is get them in the double decker terrarium that my pet lizard lives in. There's already a ficus in there,..a benjamina from a cutting I took a couple or so years ago and it's touching the ceiling(technically the bottom of the second tank because the open end is down...if that makes sense. Benjis love terrarium life and thrive there often rewarding you with aerial root displays that given time could look like a banyan grove in miniature. Love your variegation by the way! mine's the regular green but I still love it almost as much as my lizard does(it's her tree). :)

Will mine look as nice as yours one day?! Hahaha, I didn't even know what mine was until I posted it on here. Ginseng ficus, with one weird long root. It looks like a carrot! I hope it grows up nice because it's embarrassing me :) I guess ficus trees have good root systems, maybe mine will catch up with age. Great pics guys, gives me something (I hope!) To look forward to
