Diffenbachia (or Dracena, I confuse the 2): Always good to remove dead growth. It needs trimming & similar advice as your other plant (different pots size, correct mix).

it's a 'dumb cane' = dieffenbachia
the 2nd cane is too leggy - it would be best to air-layer it and then cut and plant it. the left over cane will produce new shoots.
mine grew very well near western window with sev hours of late afternoon sun. you need to fertilize it regularly and keep moist and warm.

I usually just throw the stems in wter with goo success

i am not sure what's your room temp, since it's winter. cane rooting is best in warmer temp above 75F-77F. perhaps it would best to wait till march. bottom heat will help.
