Poinsettia Pollen Sap?

I have a few poinsettia plants. All of them are in bloom. I have noticed a little cup (kind of like a pitcher plant but hundreds of times smaller) that has a thick sticky syrup-like substance coming out of it. I was wondering if that's the pollen? If so, do I just swab that and rub it on the pistol? If it's not the pollen, is it nectar? If not that either, then what is it? Thanks.

Sounds like the stigma, not the stamen.
