It almost looks like a bird of paradise.....but the top of the leaves look sorta different..... So I'm Not really sure

I also thought it was. I've had it for a couple of months and have no specific lighting arrangements . so I ruled that one out due to the intense light involved. Thank so much for your follow up

Looks like some type of Calathea, not sure which type.

Hmm...... My other guess is that it might be a type of Calathea or belong to the Marantaceae family but I couldn't find one that had the same leaf pattern as yours..

I think it's actually Ctenanthe - very similar plant, and this one may be "Grey Star" or similar cultivar.

Determining what it is is usually the best 1st step, the key to knowing its' preferences. Which of the suggestions look most like your plant?

FICUSOMIGHTUS, if your Ctenanthe needs the same care as my Ctenanthe lubbersiana, which it very much resembles except for the latter being variegated, it is very easy. Keep it moist but in a free-draining compost, in a nice bright spot but not burning sun. I have found it will take semi-shade too for at least some of the time. It doesn't require very high temperatures and enjoys a moderately humid atmosphere, and that's about it. I've had mine years. It throws up offsets which are easy to root separately..
