I have what I think is a dracaena reflexa. I have posted a couple times about it, as I think it looks too "thin" and wanted to fatten it up a bit, that is to say, make it more fuller with leaves. It was suggested I pinch it back to make the bottom grow. Well before I could do that, the very top of it broke off. Couldn't root it because there was less than an inch of actual plant in the piece and the rest was leaves.
Anyway, now a bunch of the leaves, mostly at the bottom, but scattered as well in the middle, have fallen off.
I'm guessing it's the petiole, the part that connects the leaf to the stem, turns brown and then the leaf just falls.
here's a couple pics

I didn't see any bugs, and the plant is currently housed in some miracle grow type soil. I feed it once a month or so with half strength miracle gro 24-8-16 and an occasional calmag suppliment as I have other plants in cococoir and tend to water them all at once. My water isn't fluorinated. The planter it is in might be a bit too big, but I don't think I should try to repot it right now, being the middle of winter.
any ideas as to what's happening here?
