The plant above is a florist's gloxinia, Sinningia speciosa.

Toni got her tongue twisted, lol. She knows a glox from a gardenia with her eyes closed. ;-)

I thought so, they both start with g and end with a. I do that all the time. lol

I'm going to try to plant them from seed again. That was 30 years ago. Has it been that long. Wow! They were not to hard to grow from seed. The only thing was a lot of them were purple if I remember correctly.

I bought one Gloxenia from a grower, but the flower stems were so long the flowers flopped over. The one in the picture is the one I want.

Well last March 2015, I bought 25 Brocade Gloxinia seeds from someone on Ebay in the US. I got 16 tubers. They were beautiful. I found they need strong light under my grow lights to stay compact and pretty. I finally have let them go dormant in Dec. for they first rest period since planting them. I can see most of the tubers are just over an inch.
