Pruning a tall one-stem money tree

BailaL

My money tree is up to about 6 feet. It lost several leaves over fall (about 12" along the trunk lost all its leaves), but seems to be coming back. Can I prune the top to make it bushier? I was thinking of cutting it below those two branches at the top.

Will that force more stems out of the trunk below? Is there a way to get the trunk thicker?

Thanks
