I normally don't post too much, I just hang around and read, but since I think I know the answer, here I am. I think it is a monstera deliciosa, but it is still young and has not developed the splits. Looks just like mine. It should develop the splits pretty quick. Mine get them within a couple months of having them. Awesome snag for 2 bucks!!

Yes, its Monstera. Lowes is notorious for doing that. Here where I live, the folks who work in the nursery area at Lowes and Home Depot don't know the difference between the Selloum (split leaf) Philodendron (which is hardy here) and the Monstera D, which can survive a one or two night dipto 20 but won't make it much beyond that.

I saw a lady come into Lowes once and ask for a Selloum Philo and they gave her a Monstera. She asked them, "Are you sure? My mother in law sent me up here to get this and I want to be certain I have the right thing"

They assured her that they were sure.

AFter they walked away I told her that they were wrong and showed her the Selloums. I wouldn't have wanted her MIL to have any ammunition against her, LOL

My best guess is that it will be a year to 18mo before you see splits, but so long as you give it something to climb they will be there soon!

Thanks mandi. Any recommendations for something it can climb? I'm looking for something for my golden pothos as well.

I bought a 1.5 gallon for 3.57 at Lowe's and I'm so happy!!! I'm going to give it something to climb and a bright corner inside and let it go! Thanks for posting-now I know the difference between this and swiss cheese (which I plan on replacing soon)-CJ
