My schefflera arboricola is currently at my mothers house, it is approx 12 years old. It was from a friend that gave it to us 2 years ago. It flowered during the first winter, but have not seen any this time. Could be because i pruned it though. I hear they need cooler nights during the winter to trigger the flowers.

Cool!! Those flower clusters remind me of the ivy we outside our house when I was a kid.

Beautiful!

Wndy, good eye! Schefflera and English ivy both belong to the same family.....Araliaceae.

Mike....

I've seen a Scheff in bloom at the conservatory. My Scheffs' NEVER bloom. :(

You wrote, 'Now I want to get one.' So, the Scheff in the pic isn't yours?
Did you end up adding a Scheff to your lovely collection? '

I can't recall whether or not flowers were fragrant. Toni

I also had a scheff for 5 years and it never bloomed. I guess blooming means it's a happy plant - and us who don't get flowers must not have quite the green thumb we thought we had.

Do the blooms smell like anything?
