So I just cut my croton

Just an update to an old post. I cut the whole stem down and it's about 4 inches now, and it's been bare for a week now. The cut down bit is in water but neither is it sprouting roots, nor is the stem growing new leaves. How long does it take? It gets plenty of sun now.

Hi Kasia,

Last weekend I chopped my Croton down, too. All that's left is a stick/trunk..no foliage.

I'm assuming, it'll take 2-3 weeks before new leaves sprout.
Guess it depends on temps and light.
'If mine grows back anyway,' lol.

No I just cut it down, I wasn't removing any leaves as it's all pretty fresh. Not exactly sure if that's what pruning means. English isn't my native language.
