I've always had great success at our local nursery & farmers markets. I cant believe how cruel some people can be to stoop that low to steal, just know that karma will get them..

@christine1950 I certainly agree with you. Years ago I had a beautiful, huge Boston Fern on my front porch. Someone came right up onto our porch in the middle of the night and took it. The nerve and total disregard for others' property amazes me....far too often, unfortunately.

I don't do the ebay thing,so I'm not sure about the expense there. Certainly there must be ads on the net for your local area.

As to the loss of plants right off the front porch,I can relate. Not that this has happened to me as of yet,but I've moved recently enough that my new neighbors are still a mystery to me and seeing as this town is effectively a world class hospital wrapped in a ghetto,I have no idea what I can expect when I start putting my collection outside for the summer(which they NEED given that my light situation indoors isn't that wonderful). I shudder to think what will happen when I can't stand guard over them!

Humans are predictably unpredictable. =/

I have a friend who lost all of her plants last summer.

You know what someone in her neighborhood did?
They stole all her pots and left her plants to die on her porch, sidewalk, and power lines..That's cruel.

I have been giving her a plant here and there every time she visits me.
