Bird Of Paradise Help

Hi, I have had my BOP about 2 months and was just looking for some info. The last week or so a new shoot has come up at the side of the pot and im not sure what it is. see pics

I'd say it's an offshoot and that you can propogate BOP through division. Lot's of plants multiply that way. Good time to start a second pot if you felt like it i guess. Here is a link on BOP care. I can't promise the information is legitimate though, gotta love the internet. I would bet my money that you can divide it though and both would live.

Looks like a Palm seedling to me.

Do you have palm trees around? Or a seed could have fell in the soil at the nursery.
