I have successfully grown houseplants for decades. However, there is one plant I have nothing but failure with. I love palms. Every beautiful, healthy palm I've ever brought home has sooner or later become infested with scale. After using systemic insecticides, wiping and spraying with alcohol, tea tree oil, etc., I usually end up having to trash them.

No other plants in my house have this problem. Where does the scale come from? Why do my palms get it and no other houseplants?

Can I ever have healthy indoor palms?
