Tiny Pink Newborn

I took a cutting from my old Thanksgiving Cactus and while it was rooting I noticed this little tiny shoot, less than an inch long, and how pink it was. I had to get pics!

It was a difficult setting as it was in a pot and I didnt want to see the pot in the shot so I had a bit of jiggery pokery to do!

The camera was tripod mounted and with the fading light I took some long exposure shots with the self timer-I had to be quick!

...No kidding!

I totally agree! ...The more I see of you guys' jungle cacti and what one can expect from them when they are grown well(now that you guys have shown me),the more I think I may have to get me some of those too...

Think I'll start some cuttings if I can find someone around here with any.

Remember that pic of the bonsai'd one a little while back? THAT'S what set me off,but Larry, that pink is outstanding.

Most impressive! :)

Toni, there aint no fuchsia here! Unless you mean the colour!

RE: Tiny Pink Newborn

I said that, yes I meant the color. I see on FB that you've been busy creating stunning landscapes, but pop in more often! How's this plant doing? We NEED updates, more plant porn!

RE: Tiny Pink Newborn

Wow, my TC has been producing leaves ever since it stopped blooming, but they're more of a reddish orange color (the typical new growth color), but that pink is just beautiful!

...and still no pic. You tease!

RE: Tiny Pink Newborn

What I've noticed is that the new leaves are a pale version of the color of the blooms. White is very pale green, red a lighter red, pink is pink, yellow is yellowish green. Pretty interesting.

RE: Tiny Pink Newborn

That IS interesting, Laura. I was noticing that different plants' new leaves have diff colors too. Hope I see flowers to comment on this connection.

Larry, I see you put some pics on C&S but no update here on this plant. I took one yesterday, I'll take up the slack. Does your plant make pink flowers?
