| I have had a money tree for around 7 years, and have never trimmed it. It was initially short and fat, and now it's tall and not very full. I've look at other forums about trimming them, but usually the trees being trimmed have lower growth. Mine does not have any. If I were to trim off all of the branches, will I just end up with a braided stump? I appreciate any advice - thanks! |

| Is a money tree a jade plant, i.e. Crassula ovata? If so, get thee to the Cactus and Succulent Forum, where literally thousands of lines of jade talk have been assembled, at least enough for several tomes. Look for threads that have more than 10 posts (though you can also find jewels of wisdom in the <10 posts threads, too. |

| Jeff, given the description of 'braided stump,' I'm assuming this is indeed the Money Tree, Pachira. As for the question of pruning off all the foliage...I have seen leafless stumps re-sprout, but I'm not brave enough to put my shears where my mouth is...or however that works out ;-) I just pruned my Pachira, but I left a few leaves below the cut.
