This is best I was able to find so far (in Toronto, Canada):
(Can. nickel is same size as US-I hope)

There is some sapwood, but doesn't look like too much. It is in 56litre bag, Hillview brand, labeled as: Proffesional bark mini nuggets. Paid $7.99/bag (+tax)

Are there essentially no fines in it?

I screened thru 1/2" screen:

Passed thru 1'4" screen (more sapwood than I expected):

100_0002

Passed thru insect screen:

100_0003

Order the fractions for me? Which fraction had the greatest volume? The smallest? I want to make sure you can use as much of the bark as possible.

Josh posted an interesting thread with a helpful video, if you are/anyone is interested.

Al;

Thank you for the link to video, that really helps.

Most of what I have passed thru 1/2" but not 1/4" screen - I would say almost 3/4 of the 56litre bag. I have 2bags here & can get more (garden centre just 5min from me).
I have screened perlite, but it is smaller than Joshes, and screened Napa floor dry, same size as perlite.
I have dolomitic lime, it's pelleted.
I have slow release fert.
I have MG 12-4-8 for future fertilizing (can't get FP here...)

Josh used potting soil - can I replace with floor dry?
I can get peat if better...

Try

4 parts of your bark - whatever passes through 1/2"
1 part peat or potting soil
1 part unscreened DE or Turface MVP
1/2 cup dolomite/cu ft of mix

Do you have slow release or controlled release fertilizer? You can use the controlled release product (19-6-12?) as a starter charge incorporated at 1 tsp/gallon. Would need to know the NPK %s of a slow release product to guess at an appropriate amount.

I had osmocote but it's all gone - no problem, I can buy Slow/controlled release fert. Going to buy soon, will let you know what I found.

Thanx. Rina
