I've thought of at least one plant often grown as a houseplant, and always commonly CALLED cactus as part of the common name....but isn't!

Any guesses?

RE: House plants with 'cactus' in their name

That's not the one I'm thinking of, Greybird. I have to admit that I've never heard Stapelia (Carrion Flower) called Starfish Cactus. Interesting. Has anyone else heard of that? So your guess is a good one.

I HATE to tell you yet, because I know you all love a good mystery.

A clue would be that it's not some obscure, whacky doodle plant. We see pictures of them in here now and then. Another clue might be the fact that I've never heard of this plant called anything but "blankety cactus ".

I promise that I'll give you the answer before I go to bed. OR I might offer a give away clue. :-)
