Aglos are really easy plants to look after.

As with all other houseplants, the important thing is not to learn how often to water it (as that could depend on so many things) but to test whether it needs water. Feel the compost, is it damp? Don't water it! Is it dry? Water it!

Feed once a month or so, the books say stop in the winter but I find a very light feed throughout winter helps.

Aglos can survive a wide variety of conditions as long as they stay warm ish, i.e. 60 deg F plus.

In Europe where I am the red Aglos are rare, so enjoy!

I don't know Lee, perhaps you could read up a bit on Aglaonemas.

But since these are regarded as lower light plants, if you do put it outside, perhaps give it shade, no direct sun as it's likely to burn.

Ag is sensitive to frost, so until then, sure it would be fine in the shade as suggested.

In my experience they are one of the more cold sensitive houseplants but don't always get that reputation as the damage takes a while to become apparent.

    I wouldn't keep them anywhere that got below 55 - 60 F.

StewartsJon, did I ever tell you I love your screen name? :)

I can't recall if my Aglaos were ever summered outdoors. I agree Aglaos shouldn't sit in cold temps..
Unfortunately, my plant rooms get quite cold during the coldest winter months.
In fact, 'new' windows leak icy air.
The last couple years, 'after losing succulents to frost,' I've been placing plastic sheets on window ledges where locks are and pane bottoms. It helps.

Anyway, my poor Aglaonemas remain fairly chilled during winter. Sure doesn't help appearance.

But, I certainly agree cold can cause leaf-frost or death.

Another cold-sensitive plant that's effected by cold is Hoya..especially thin leaf types.
Last year, around Oct, my Hoyas were last to come inside. Those with thin leaves DIED.
Thicker leaf varieties, such as Kerriis, made it, but weren't happy campers.
