I'm a total fan of the Fafard Professional Heavy Weight mixes. There are several different options available, but you need to find a privately owned garden center who either uses it for their own purposes (it's a wholesale product) or who will special order it for you.

I used to use it as a professional, but have had no problem whatsoever having a garden center order it for me. You'll have to go someplace other than WalMart.

hi
i don't grow my houseplants in the house but they are generally in pots . . For most tropicals I use a mix of pine bark fines and top soil ,varying the mix by the plant. Usually add a bit of leca or crushed lava for palms and aroids.. Works well is cheap and adaptable gary

I'm always a fan of Pro-Mix or Myke.

I know many people here are fans of making their own mixes but I use the miracle gro Cactus Palm & Citrus soil and have never had any problems with it.
