outdoor plants indoors

I want to bring some outdoor plants indoors ( all in pots and pretty much rootbound) , among them are a lemon grass species ( cymbopogon ) and a carex morrowi , almost all plants are reliable indoors and have robust constitution.

Both are outdoor plants and i know outdoor plants carry all kinds of pests my plan is to undo all soil from the roots, soak both plants in a large bucket with a pesticide ( pyrethrin and /or oil fatty acid based pesticides ) for 24 hours. get it out and spray it with a soap solution. i also will apply alcohol and other organic pesticides now and then

plants will be repotted isolated for 6 weeks and observed for any pests....

my living room already got a huge amount of plants ( large amount of $ ) i don't want pests roaming around

Will this be succesfull or is this a bad idea in general and i shouldn't bring them indoors ?
