White spots on Schefflera

Posted by DrKeith none (My Page) on

I have small white spots on the top of my Schefflera leaves (see photo). They wipe off easily. No signs of aphids or other insects. The spots appear dry and do not look like cotton.

I have tried Safe soap but no change. New leaves are forming normally but I do have mature leaves falling off.

Any ideas?

They are water spots, you more then likely have hard water thus leaving calcium/salt behind on the roots/leaves. Not much you can do about it other then using distilled water.

I don't care for these, but I think it's staying too wet. That potting mix looks like it's so water retentive (holds water) that it's molding.
