It may have caught spider mites, whatever the case it looks dead, I dont think it can(and even if it can, may not be worth) saving. sorry ;/

It is likely not worth saving, but it is up to you. Did you ever repot in those 4 years and what is the soil like? To try and save it you'd have to cut it back to about 6-8 inches, repot in a container about 1/3 the size of the one its in (check the roots to see if they are rotted) and use potting soil mixed with perlite at a 50/50 ratio and see what happens.

Oh I just so appreciate both of you who shared your thoughts!
I did repot it at some point but I will take the suggestion of cutting it back and downsizing in the pot department, plus give it the perlite, etc. and just see what happens.
It's not that I'm deeply attached to the plant, but I do want to respect its will to live if it indeed still has one!!
