It's a variegated Schefflera arboricola.

A plant that pretty in the garbage -why? I'd check for pests. Maybe they were just moving?

Scheff Trinette or Gold Capella.

lucky you! great plant..easy to care for.filtered light,water only when somewhat dry. feed 'weekly, weakly'...keep us posted please.

Kev, you found a really nice Scheff. It looks healthy, but as Purple suggested, to be on the safe side, check for pests.

People toss plants for different reasons. Some families move, some buy plants for summer, then discard in autumn.

I've seen plants and pots in the alley. Most were purchased for summer gardens or as flowering gift plants. As soon as flowers faded, it went in the trash.
