Oxalis repotting

I have two oxalis pots that I think are common houseplant varieties. One is the green and has white blooms. The other is the same size and shape as the green but in dark purple leaves with pink blooms. These are plants my father kept and enjoyed, he would break them up and repot and give them to people. They are all in a sandy soil that is almost black with organic material. The soil is what he would dig up from under an old apple orchard in an area that is all sand, just to give an idea of what these plants are in now.

I was thinking of putting both of these into a shallow but large in circumference clay pot, together. Has anyone done this successfully, and do the plants stay green and purple and separate?

Second, I am thinking that since they grow from corms that there is not a lot of root system that goes down into the soil, so I probably don't need a big deep pot. Is this correct? Would my orchid bark/perlite/potting soil mix work or would the inorganic Turface/granite/fir bark be better? I have never used a mix like that but am wanting to use something better for the plants and the discussions on soil are really interesting. I don't know much about oxalis and how it works as a houseplant.

Beetle.....yes, yes.....what exactly is the yes's confirming....that the plant can do equally or better than in a non-potting soil/mix---yet that's what the growers say to use...normal potting soil that drains well. Kept moist...and given sunlight that doesn't bear on the plant.

The oxalis should be kept in a dry state, yet be misted to keep the moisture up. The use of a non-soil, does go against the expectation that it can be kept in a moist way.

So, I'd say this is a yes, .......and definitely ..YES!
