Spider plant seeds...

| Anyone ever seen spider plant seeds? I have some seed pods like begonias on my spider plant and what look like seeds inside. Can you grow plants from these or is it better to grow from the spider babies?
Thanks, Ann |

| I've seen the pods, but never seeds, nor did we ever have spider plants spontaneously springing up under the tables at work (like we had for Impatiens, polka-dot plant, and a few others), which makes me suspect that either they never produce any seeds, or they produce only infertile ones. |

| I have. My plants have produced seeds. Lots and lots of seeds. All over my kitchen floor. As I understand it, (I've saved seeds but haven't planted any) they are fertile, produce only all green plants, even if the parent plant is variegated. |

My plants have produced seeds several times. They can be planted; I have only gotten all-green plants so far, as Karen said above. But it is still fun to grow a plant from seeds you harvest. Elsie |
