RE: Double header!

Larry, yes I do love seeing little buds forming on TC leaves.

Do you know flower color in first picture? Looks like orange, but it's difficult being sure at this stage.

Leaves of your TC's are green and healthy...Toni

RE: Double header!

Looks like it will be in full bloom just in time for......Thanksgiving, lolol!

 o
RE: Double header!

Nice budding, Larry! I'm terribly optimistic my TC will bloom this year. No signs of budding just yet, though.

Rhizo..lol.

Problem is Larry lives in UK...they don't celebrate Thanksgiving..

Larry, do you know the date US celebrates Thanksgiving?

 o
RE: Double header!

Toni, isnt it last thursday in november?
What exactly do you give thanks for?
Oh and the flowers are pink, wanna see one from a previous year?

RE: Double header!

Larry...Thanksgiving falls on the third Thurs, in November.
Is there a holiday similar to Thanksgiving in UK?
How is Christmas celebrated?
A Christmas Carol/Mr. Scooge comes to mind when I think about Christmas in UK... :)

What do I give thanks for or everyone else? lol..j/k

Thanksgiving...During the Cival War, Ex Pres Lincoln declared a national holiday to give thanks to God.

The first Thanksgiving lasted 3 days, 'It's a Wonderful Life' lol. The Pilgrims were also thankful to God for guiding them safely to the New World, America.' They got together w/Native Americans, had a feast... In other words they were thankful. I feel sorry for Native Americans though.

Sure, send a pic this way..love looking at pics.

RE: Double header!

There ya go Toni.

BTW christmas is pretty much the same here as there, commercialised and for kids.
Im afraid I couldnt celebrate thanksgiving even if I was american...

RE: Double header!

That's an awesomely pretty flower!!

Larry, Thanksgiving is wonderful! It's a time to get family and friends together for an awesome meal and to share thankfulness for all good things. As far as holidays go, it's really the least commercialized, no gifts or particular clothing, and most people don't decorate much, if at all. It's a good thing.

All I can say about Christmas is that it's considered inappropriate to discuss religion and politics and other volatile subjects except in the hot topics forum. I can't participate in a discussion about Christmas unless it's a religious one. Feel free to start a hot topic though. Then get ready for your inbox to blow up man.

RE: Double header!

Rhizo, you are to funny.lololol

Have a great Sunday you all.

Purple, been there at Hot Topics...Religion, politics, AND DOGS...lol
Have you ever seen those discussions? I guess you can get away with a lot of name calling there.lol

Toni...I'll bet you don't have n X-mass Cactus..ha

Jen, when it does, I would love to see your flowers:-)

RE: Double header!

Yes, Mike, HT is where the fur flies! It's good to have a proper forum for those discussions, and if you have a question about something, you'll get a LOT of varied and uncensored, unvarnished responses. A very cool thing.

"...Im staying well away from that one"
Larry, agreed. Love that macro shot, cool!

RE: Double header!

Howdy,

Larry...the delicacy of TC flowers are so very beautiful. Gorgeous bloom.

Larry, the foliage looks different...is it variegated? I like...

Couldn't celebrate Thanksgiving? You'd be missing a huge feast..Turkey/duck, unless you're vegetarian. Mashed and Sweeet potatoes, veggies, rolls, gravy, stuffing, and desserts? No?

Mike, you're right..I am without a true Christmas Cactus..lol.
A month or so back, someone offered me a cutting, but at the time I was busy repotting and hauling plants inside. Starting with the front and back plant rooms..Thankfully both rooms are finished..Trying to finish upstairs room..Bedroom and bathroom.

Do you have a true CC?

 o
RE: Double header!

Toni, no variegation for me, I didn't know you get variegated ones.
Its just backlit, the light shining thru it.

RE: Double header!

hey Greenlarry . . .. an 'atheist pagan'? How can you be both . . . dont pagans believe in gods and nature spirits?

Thanksgiving is a nice holiday where families get together and are thankful to God.
I respect the Native American tribes. Yes, they've been mistreated repeatedly in past history, I dont know what is happening with all tribes currently.
Thanks for the photos of your (ahem) 'holiday cactus . . . '

RE: Double header!

Sherry, there are many kinds of pagan, its not all about gods and godesses and spells. I would class myself as a green pagan if anything. I just have utmost respect for nature, Im of the opinion that this isnt our world to do what we like with it, that we are just tenants, paying a rent. I wont kill anything without reason, won't even step on an ant!
Maybe Im pagan, or maybe Im just weird!
