| Yes I think spathe is the correct term. Very interesting bloom! Once in a while, nature makes anomalies. Since there is only 1 spike in the middle of this double-hooded spathe, the spathe may have just split, or that may just be the way that particular plant is "wired." I've seen seeds send out 2 taproots, had a sunflower with a double head, and a tulip that used to have 1 green petal every year. There used to be a thread somewhere on these forums where people had put pics of plant anomalies but I can't seem to find it to share a link to it here for you. |
