I know I'm replying although I've never tried growing one, but these are things I've read:

1. They are more fussy overall
2. They require brighter light to maintain their colors
3. They require acidic fertilizer (epsom salt) like a 'Peace Lily'

I have both types, but they're growing in the garden. Not much noticeable difference with them but the reddish ones seem a lot slower growing.

i have had one for about 6 weeks. The new leaves come in a different color that the rest but it is still simply a houseplant.
Just make sure to water it at least once a week and dont let the temp get too cold.

Thanks for the info folks. I am happy to hear that they don't really seem all that different.

Since green aglaonemas seem to do well when grown in hydroculture I am hoping the pink one will like it too. Plants that like humidity seem to do a little better in hydroculture from my experience.
