There are several species of Curcuma, do you know which one it is? Normally they grow during the wet season (summer) and stay dormant during the dry season (winter). If you let the pot dry out throughout summer it could be reckoning on wet season coming soon and it getting ready to meet it. A lot of these types of plants don't wait for actual rain to come, it's more like the length of time that it's been dry. So now, how are you going to fulfil its expectations of a tropical wet season?

Thanks for the reply! It is a Curcuma Alismatifolia or Siam Tulip. It has been a very wet summer here and I did water the soil when I did my other outside plants (just in case it was still alive). Does it need more water than most plants? I know my Marantas need a close eye on them for watering. Will keep it going inside now and maybe will get a nice flower for the winter months.

Doesn't need more water than most other plants, but does need to be kept moist. Keeping the temperature up will be important. Good luck with it.

That's a real problem will be tough to provide the heat and humidity necessary to induce flowering ,.
I grow mine in pots but outdoors where they florish during the warm humid summers . I do find I have to let them dry a bit during dormancy or i often get rot or fail to flower vigorously . You'll have to keep it indoors for sure and provide enough light Hope you report back your results ?? I find them to be extremely intolerant of cold and drought!! Good luck !!! gary
