Please get a pic of that so we can see too! Sounds neat to me. They will fog glass of a jar or terrarium,but I've never seen what you're describing.

I've never noticed mine doing that, but I have seen mine releasing drops of moisture from guttation when very well watered. I would imagine that your plant must be releasing excess moisture from its leaves and something about the environment is making that moisture evaporate readily rather than forming droplets the way mine does.

Sounds like the start of a horror film - I think there's a lot we don't know about plants unless we experience the phenomena personally.

The plant is on a table between me and a large black flat screen TV (TV turned off). The only light in the room are incandescent table lamps. I have only noticed this twice, about 8:00 pm ( total darkness outside, no sun). The fog slowly rises from the leaves and can be seen in front of the black TV screen.

Maybe it's haunted.

Oh no!! I just bought one of these for my bedroom to put on the nighttable next to the bed. So far it seems to be behaving normally but I plan to keep a close eye on it.

Sorry-you are asking a legitimate question but I couldn't resist the haunted plant idea. Probably has something to do with a temp change where you are getting a vapor maybe.

It's a Devil's Ivy, but not the haunted kind. After a little Googling, I have decided it is probably transpiration and is normal. I do find it odd that others have not observed this in their plants. This is my first house plant. I am a vegetable gardener, tomatoes and peppers.

You are probably observing respiration ( or photosynthesis if light enough) . Both plant processes produce water vapor through the stomata. During photosynthesis, oxygen is the gas that mixes with the water to make the vapor....during respiration, carbon dioxide is the gas.
