Fiddle Leaf Fig problem

Hi! I just got my 1st Ficus Lyrata plant. It came to me w/ several brown spotted leaves and some spots on the stem. The spots on the stem do not look like scale to me, but I wanted to check and see if they were normal or if it has a fungus. Also, what causes the brown spots on the leaves? Would appreciate any help!
