Either that or the roots are all dead. If that is the case, then the plant would still suffer dehydration even if the media is moist. However, if the media feels dry, it may not be wicking the water as is needed.

When using one of the self-watering containers, one can't use just any old mix, as I recall. It needs to hold some moisture but still be "airy". The folks on the AV forum would know more. Also, assuming you bought the plant from a BBS, did you completely remove the crappy peat media it was likely planted in before putting it in the self-watering pot? If not, that is another issue.

i suspect a root rot also ...

and i would try to root a leaf or two ... as a failsafe ... they may just be alive enough ...

the AV forum.. is rather active... so do go there ...
