| I was at Walmart today and found this beautiful yellow Thanksgiving Cactus. It made my day and now I can hardly wait for a blossom to open.

| Wow, that's pretty. I always find the common colors around here, did you get that online or from a BBS? Planto |

| Val..Yesterday, Sunday, was your lucky day.. A Lipstick and Thanksgiving Cactus.. I didn't know TC were available yet... Very pretty color..Does the tag read yellow? Reason I'm asking is true yellow is hard to come by. In the past, when TC's were sold here, some stores labeled 'Gold Charm' as yellow. But your TC has yellow hues...the closest I've seen to a true yellow. Very pretty TC...Toni |

| Planto - I purchased it yesterday at my local Walmart. Toni - There was no tag at all. The foil wrapping said it was a Christmas Cactus grown by A&A Kline Twp, PA. It could easily be 'Gold Charm'. One daughter thought is was yellow and the other thought it was a peachy color. One blossom opened today.

val1, I just came from our local Wal-Mart and no TCs with that color flower. I've seen peach flowers before, but that does look more yellow to me. What a great find! Planto |

| Planto - We have two Walmarts in our valley and I shopped at both of them this week. The first one I went to only had red, pink and white TCs but had a beautiful greenish yellow orchid and a type of lipstick plant that went home with me. The orchid was for my daughter. A few days later I went to the other Walmart, which is closest to me, just to get a few cleaning supplies and thought I would pick up the white TC for my other daughter. They did not have any white but had the yellow. I still need to go back and get the white one. Then my husband says I have caught my limit for a while. At least until I find places for them other than the kitchen table. LOL! |

| I've been accused of having wishful or optimistic eyesight. Those flowers are pink to me. The bright magenta stamen seems to radiate color to the petals. Looked at the first pics and was ambivalent, but I LOVE these open flowers! |

| Don't want to rain on your parade as it did on mine...the blooms don't last long on a cactus...if your lucky, maybe a week, and when they die they are a sight to behold...hanging like shriveled shrimp until they fall off and make a mess on the floor...BUT, it won't stop me from trying again. Does anyone know if you can make them rebloom after dying back? If so, how long? |

| Hmm J think it could be a TC/CC hybrid, the flower shape us different, shorter overall to mine. |

| Purpleinopp - The flowers do have a pink tint to them, almost a blush. Boothbay - I purchased a pink Thanksgiving Cactus last year and it rebloomed again this year. It surprised me because it was on the kitchen table and did not receive the short daylight hours because the light in the kitchen stays on late at night. However, only part of it bloomed. It was the part that was closest to the window. Next year I will definitely give it the short day treatment to get more blooms. I have heard people who get theirs to bloom twice a year. I did place my true Christmas Cactus in an area where it gets the short daylight hours and it is loaded with buds. I cannot wait until it blooms.

Val, Both your daughters are likely right! Walmart had a couple in my local store last year and i bought them both. When mine bloomed the yellow was there for 3 days then slowly changed to a peachy color when they closed up completely it looked like a glob of a overripe peach. the pink cast you see is probably from it being too cool when the buds formed. There is a outfit in Ohio that sells 1 like it and they call their's Golden Girl. This Pic is mine from last year, Hasn't budded yet this year. c |

Val1, Haha, I have plants divided between three plant stands, our night stand, the computer table, my dresser, and the windowsill. I've officially run out of room! Planto |

| Its quite amazing the diversity of flower shape in everyon's TC flowers! Some have long petals, and thus long flowers, like mine, and some are much shorter. I love the peach colour with the pink blush! |
