You may be right about the dryness. As the yellow part looks a little spotty in this view you might also want to get a lens and look for mites.

It's actually very uniform around the outside of maybe 6 or 7 large older leaves. Since keeping it nice and moist I haven't had any others turn.

Also, does anyone know how good these things are at growing from a cut? I just cut the top of one plant which was pushing over 6 foot. I left the rest because i want to see how that responds. I'm hoping it just pushes out new growth like a tree.

This is not the best time of year to take cuttings. But should be successful as long as your home is not too dry. You can plant the top portion in a well-draining soil and keep it just a bit moist (not dry, but not wet). The top of the trunk should also resprout.

Not taking a cutting, just cutting the plant down. I threw the top out.
