Looks like a stick to represent a trunk and the wires support a pot with a plant. A trick!!

No trick, grafted on to Pereskia.

I used a stick too thin; thus the top is too heavy. Hence, it needs the support.

This looks like Schlumbergera truncata to me, Thanksgiving cactus. I'd love to see a pic of the graft.

You are absolutely correct. It is not the Christmas one but the Thanksgiving one. I do not remember why I typed the Easter one.

Is Pereskia more tolerant of overwatering like some of the Schlum hybrids are?

I have been wanting to try this, but someone here suggested grafting onto Dragon fruit trained upright for strength. Any thoughts? Any experience would be appreciated.

I don't have any dragon fruit, so I have no idea. I heard the dragon fruit is a popular tropical crop, though.

I'm going to remain a skeptic until I see a graft union. it is really pretty though.

On the bright side: Pereskia is ( in my opnion) the better graft to use for your schlum as both are natural gowers of the same tropical area.
The not so bright side: Aside from the thin ( less stable) main trunk you show there is yet another dimmer side to the Pereskia as well.. (Technicly more than one )

Even though the schlum cacti can build it's own trunk in time and be made into a bonsai that grows with out suport could be a reason to be more of a skeptic.

AKA None of what I hear and only half of what I see in a sence.

I too would request to see the actual inner graft. Untill then

I thought this thread is about grafting. I see no sign of grafting in your picture though :-)

Would you please share a pic of the graft on your plant, jujujojo? Not sure how to ask more clearly than that.

And, if you still have them, I would also love an update about how these grafted plants are doing.
