You have a Thanksgiving Cactus, and it looks fine.
Is it wrapped in plastic or foil around the pot? If so, remove it immediately so that the roots don't stay wet or sitting in moisture.

Yes, it's Schlumbergera truncata. I don't see anything wrong with it either. The new leaves can be a different color, kind of orangish, reddish, or even purplish.

Thank you both very much. That's a relief. Josh thank you for telling me about the wrap. The plant was in it at the grocery store and I just left it in it. I will unwrap it right away. Thank you for the welcome it's good to be here. :)

If you put your plant near a window in a room where you don't turn the lights on after dark (if possible,) it should still have time to form some flowers. They do this when the nights are longer than the days.
