| Hi all!
Tried to find this in the forum and didn't see an answer to my burning question: Can I embed old vintage jewelry into hypertufa to add some pizzazz?? Also, can I use broken pieces of plates/dishes etc the same way? Thanks for the info! I'm having some fun this winter while it snows outside

Morning Susan Why not??? 'Gottatufa' made a great geode with embedded safety glass shards. Here is a link you may find interesting; http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/1180084427058213102eITwMm She describes her technique in GW post titled 'tufa sphere planters from basketballs??' I use sea glass embedded into my planters for accent. http://s1232.photobucket.com/albums/ff364/JamaicaPeg/Projects 2010/P apercrete projects/ So I guess anything goes, can't wait to see the pics!

Jamaicapeg- thanks for the reply. My friend buys repair/junk jewelry lots off e-bay and all the left overs gave me to the idea to incorporate some in my next tufa project. I've got some projects drying right now, without the jewelry, and I've taken pics along the way and I'll post soon. thanks again for the info! I'll check out the links.

PS - I LOVE your stuff! I hope to have such a nice collection of tufa this spring!!

When a neighbor's glass covered dish had an accident he gave me the broken top. Of course I took it! I wanted to see if I could make a fitted lid for a tufa bowl that was sitting in storage and wondered if I could up-cycle this shiny piece of glass at the same time. I clipped off the sharp edges and embedded the glass bobble(?) in the lid. I've seen many decorative glass lids at thrift stores and they are inexpensive, now I have several other ideas bouncing around in my brain like BBs in a boxcar. Anyway, this small tufa pot/bowl now has a fitted lid. Hope you enjoy the pix.
