| Hi all,
I did some searching in the Hypertufa section prior to posting but most of the related threads were from 5+ years ago where the picture links didn't work anymore. So I am planning on building an outdoor dining table this year that I would like to resemble something out of a Restoration Hardware catalog or the like without spending the money to get such a table. I am good with my woodworking skills so plan on build a solid base for a ~8-9' table out Cedar and would like it to resemble something like this:
My first thought was to make a Zinc tabletop, but without having a machine press I was worried my edges may look too sloppy...so I started thinking about Hypertufa. My question is:
I love the smoother Hypertufa look that gradually gets the small knooks and crannys but overall remains smooth enough for a rustic looking table top. I was inspired by seeing this in This Old House and was curious if this could be done on a much larger scale.
Thank you all for your help! |

| have a look here it is possible but I would not want such a large thing. It would need to be extremely heavy if you want to sit 9 people. Try to make it lighter and it will compromise its strength.... fibreglass mesh comes in...plan and then plan and once you finish that plan some more |
