Would hypertufa be strong for a 3 foot garden bench with a leg on each end? How long would it take for it to cure?

you would definetly need rebar reinforcement.
I don't think that hypertufa would be the best for a bench. Just my opinion.

If you use cement-sand-peat moss, than it is OK.

I've made quite a few benches. Some hypertufa, some a cement mix. Lots with some stained glass as a design. This one was made with , portland, sand, and peat. Used some teracotta colorant and a glass design. Three pieces of rebar in the top and threw in some fibres as well.

Cindy, I love your bench...what did you use for molds? Is the top attached? Thanks, Sharon

Hi Sharon, I used history stones molds. They're available on line. I didn't attach the top, too heavy to move around then.

Cindy, that looks great! I would really like to make a couple of curved benches, but didn't know what to use for a mold. Thought about having my husband make one out of wood.
