Making hypertufa steps

Hi,

I am winding down a LONG house project and need to put in a step or two at the front porch. I was wondering if anyone here knew anythng about making hypertufa steps. I thought is would be nice to have small planting areas build right into the sides of the steps. The bottom step would be about 60 inches wide in a rough half moon the top step would be about 46 inches in the same shape. Any help ideas or suggestions are very welcome. Of course I have never done this before but always been interested.

Personally, I'd stick with a basic concrete mix for something like steps. Hypertufa is not that strong or wear resistant. You can always sculpt & finish the concrete to look like natural stone if that's the "look" you're after. Or you can embed stones like "moonrocks" or small river rock into the surface and have a really durable and good looking finish.
