OZ Update

Zoe and I went to see Wizard Of Oz last Sat. First play for both of us. We were both entranced. It was wonderful. GDs' eyes were so big when the curtain went up. It was worth it to see her reaction to see her favorite movie done in real life. She's four and did great sitting thru 2 1/2 hrs. I know Dorothy and Toto are supposed to be the stars, but the man that did the cowardly lion stole the show. He did a wonderful job. I'm glad that I got a chance to see this play. It's also my all time favorite too. I won't hesitate in the future to see a play.

I can imagine her little eyes and I'll bet your heart was pounding with pride and joy!!!!!

Theater plays,ballet,symphony, museums are worth every dime and would be great if they were included in everyone's budgets!!!!! If you live close to a college they usually have a drama dept. that makes it a little more $ reasonable. I do not get to go very often at all, but when I do I am breathless afterwards!!!!!!

Kids and theater are such a great combo! We took our three youngest sons (the older two were not interested) to see "Alice in Wonderland" just before Christmas. I was ashamed to say that it was the first professional production that my little guys have seen... especially when you consider that I work in theater professionally!!!!! Unfortunately the next show we are producing is "MacBeth" and it is definitely PG13. They will just have to wait until "The Chalk Garden" to see Mom's costumes (and acting!) on stage.

Thank you all for supporting the theater where ever you may be. There are LOTS of small pro companies around that have reasonable ticket prices. We only charge $12 for an adult. When you consider that I paid $9 to see a movie last might that's a steal!

Keep on taking those little guys to shows! Support the Arts in your community. We all know that the arts are the first thing cut from the budget when there's a crunch so it will have to come from our own pockets.

Ditto to what Princess Mimi said! You certainly get your money's worth...and arts are always the first to feel the budget squeeze! I'm lucky enough to live near a college community and 2 cities that both have community theatres...awesome local talent in both(I pick & chose.) If you can budget it in, it's worth the time & effort!
