Old shutter Bi folds made into shelves

At the Antique and collectable Mall I needed some shelving and they showed me how they took the Bifold doors and slipped shelving through after pulling out a louvre.

I found these at Habitat for Humanity store for $10 but I am sure people throw them out alot. Make sure they are the same and the louvres(is that what they are called?) line up

I painted mine beachy colors and each shelf is different. Greens and blues. The shutters I dry brushed to look like old cottage shutters.I didnt finish putting stuff on them so you could get a better idea

Wow, what a neat idea. I've seen 'corner shelves' made from old shutters, but not using them this way for long shelves. This goes in my idea file for sure.

Love your long shelves. I got a pair that are in a corner that I used old barn wood for shelves. I love the way you paintd them.

Love the shutter shelves. Love the paint technique. I found myself shopping as I looked at all of the cool merchandise. So you did start your booth???? CONGRATS!!!

What a delightful idea! I would have never thought of using the shutters like that. They look great! I bet this would be a great way to put up a craft booth at a fair. I imagine it would lie flat once taken apart for easy storage. Thanks for sharing!

I like the effect of your beachy paint job!! Very cool looking & shutters make a very sturdy shelving unit!! Looks like lots of interesting stuff! You get quite large space!! Do you work there or not? One we had stuff at they handled everything. Just came in once a month to get paid. And pay rent. Good Luck with it!! Jan

Yes I went for a larger space but have already made over a thousand dollars due to some paintings I had. The only work I do is setting up my own booth.I am able to get some really great purchases here year round.For instance we just picked up a fantastic gun cabinet.Solid wood but the key was lost.We got it for 15 bucks and spent another 15 on the key but now I will probably get $300 for it,
I am sure if you curb shop you will find those old Bifold doors as many people update them first.
