Prayers Please

I've been battling a sinus infection since NY Eve. Had to go to 2 doctors to get a diagnosis, something just didn't feel right. Well he found a large polyp in my left nasal, looks a little funny, so he is doing a biopsy this Thursday. It's a whole big thing have to go under full anesthesia and be in the hospital for procedure. After he gets report back if it is benign back into hospital to remove it. Also for some reason that they don't know yet have major hearing loss out of my left ear, same side as the polyp.

We have beautiful 85 degree weather and I can't go out and play. :(

Sylvia, sorry to hear you need surgery!! Prayers for you & your family!! Hearing loss might be "stuff" stuck up in there" MY DH had any serious infections & dr told us how to help get rid of the infection. It is very simple. YOu hold your nose shut with your fingers (like you are pinching it) keep mouth shut & blow out of nose as hard as you can(keep holding it with your fingers) Do that about 5 times a day (just once each time) It releases stuff that can't get out & makes it go down your throat. It works very well for some colds & infections also. Lady at church was on 3rd round of antibodics & nothing was working & her head was so stuffed she could hardly hear. She called few days later to tell us it worked & she was almost well. This dr. was a eye ear & nose specialist. He's retired now, maybe passed on but his advice has been very helpful!! Jan

Big prayers for you. I am an allergy person and have LOTS of sinus infections. They are soooooo painful! I can't imagine having polyps and surgery too!

My favorite "cure" is to take a dish towel wet it and wring it out and fold it into eighths. I then microwave it until it is as hot as I can stand it. Place it on the whole top of my face. It will stay hotter longer than a wash cloth and can be refolded to put the hotter part on your face. rewet and heat as necessaary. I keep a box of kleenex handy because the draining begins quickly.

I'll be keeping you in my prayers!

    Sylvia~

I'll be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. Hope you feel better very soon and that the polyp issue will be resolved quickly and without a lot of pain. I'm sure it is having an effect on your hearing as well, so it will be nice to have that fixed too!

    Sweet Nanagrandma,

Anything like a polyp that presses a nerve can indeed effect your hearing and keep that canal from draining. Hold on and dont worry about the "what if's". Hubs and I have spent many many many wasted hours of sleep on the, "What If's"!!!

Prayers are already going up from DFW/North,

    Susie

Thank You all for your sweet and kind words.
Susie I didn't think of it, but if polyp is pressing on nerve it could be cause of hearing loss. So hopefully the removal will let me hear again.
Mimi I am going to try that dishtowel right now! My head feels like it wants to explode, Yucky as my GS Beto would say.
Sunny Cal I will try your blowing out my nose method too.
    Thanks GJ Friends

    Oh Sylvia,
I am sorry to hear about all that is going on and my prayers are with you. As a 3 time cancer survivor I can tell you that I know what you are going through. Just roll with the flow and no matter what news you get try to remember that God will be there with you all the way and everything will be ok. Any time you need to vent I am sure that everyone here on Garden Junk will be here to listen and support you. Don't let the stress build up inside of you....when I was going through it all my doctor told me that stress is your worst enemy in times like these.

Sylvia I'll be thinking of you. My dad had polyps in his sinuses and he was so much better after they were removed. I hope that will be true of you as well.

    Sylvia,
I too will be praying for you to be well. Sometimes, the not knowing is the worst part. I pray for you to get this whole thing over with and for you to be on the road to complete recovery with minimum discomfort.

    God bless you!

Thought, I would give you update, biopsy surgery went well, doctor took tissue from three sites. Will know results next week. I do have to stop the what ifs, because I am scaring myself, but, I am a control freak so have being researching some on internet, Good thing is that nasal polyps are rarely cancerous. So I promised myself to cut it out and think POSITIVE!

I went and had manicure and pedicure and hair done Wednesday day before, I couldn't breathe but heck it was worth it. My manicurist knew I was going to surgery so he painted a flower on ring finger nail, so cute! :)

Today, when I went in I noticed my doctor is really handsome and young, I don't know why I didn't notice before. PLUS he is really nice. The control freak came out a little bit when I asked him where did you go to school, he impressed me Georgetown and UC Irvine. When I asked him if he was good, he said very low key "I am confident" I like people who answer questions but with humility!!

The best news I can BREATHE much better. DOUBLE YEAH!

I am so grateful for your prayers and that I can post my troubles on this blog it sure does help. My girl friends from High School are a dear blessing to me too, I have known them over 50 years.

Thank You and I will keep you updated, if you don't mind!

    God Bless YOu and YOurs
