6 New Jersey Women Hospitalized After Botched Butt-Implant Injections

March 8, 2010 at 10:48 Â Six New Jersey women have undergone treatment in area hospitals after receiving buttocks-enhancing injectionsÂwith material typically used to caulk bathtubs.

The women were apparently administered a diluted version of the nonmedical-grade silicone by unlicensed providers. After falling ill, the women were forced to undergo surgery and receive antibiotics .

In published reports, Steven Marcus, medical director of the state Poison Information and Education System, said the silicone was "the same stuff you use to put caulk around the bathtub."

Health officials have notified nearby hospitals and doctors to be aware for other potential victims.

Medical professionals say using over-the-counter silicone can cause abscesses that resemble a large acne blemish.

No arrests have yet been made.

Well, I bet a guy would slap you on the rear once & never again!!(If you had that stuff in you, it gets pretty hard) In high school I was walking up the stairs when some guy slapped me on the behind, I turned around to clobber him when I saw him standing there wringing his hand. He looked at me & said,boy that hurt!! I told him lucky he didn't get my fist & next time you will. I did a lot of bike riding, swimming, ice skating & rowing so I was pretty tough for a girl. Some women are sure vain! Today Sharon Osborne said she made a mistake getting breast implants, she said,"It's like sleeping with a waterbed on your chest" I think she is getting them removed. Jan

That is a hoot, people are crazy. At a charity auction, I recently bought a GC for Restylane treatments or a chemical peel. Now I'm kind of scard to use it. I'm thinking about offering to my mother-in-law. They show some amazing before and after pix, I'll have to think more on it. I know one thing, I do not want to add anything to my behind, well maybe a support garment(girdle).
