We have many in the spring...Seems like each yr. we have more. We use Terro...The ones we use are in a plastic tray that you cut the end off and lay it where ever you need it and the ants come in droves for several days and eat, then they are gone....

When I use to manage properties we put the poison in fruit jelly and put the jelly in drinking straws. You can toss these around under things and slipped under the house ect. The ants feed on it inside the straw away from other animals, birds, ect. We used a poison that was designed to kill the queen. susie

We had some blue stuff that got rid of our carpenter ants that wer eating the house. It killed the queens. I'll try to find the old bottle.
My mom always said that ants were going to take over the world. She ran across so many colonies when she was gardening.
I don't recommend letting the ant eater near the kitties. They have giant claws i think.

I am with you Huntermom...I feel like I am being over run. I have gone through 2 cans of spray just in the past couple of days....I am beginning to think that it is actually sugar spray and it just calls more of them...

Kathy...I sure would appreciate if you could find out what the blue stuff is that gets rid of the carpenter ants...I have noticed a lot of those this year. I was just freaking out about them the night before last... I sprayed so much ant spray over my kitchen door that it looked like a water fall dripping on the floor below...I HATE BUGS!!!!!!
