It looks like our golden finches with a red dye job! lol! Very pretty little birdy. I bet he likes niger seeds! TFS!

Kirk ... BEAUTIFUL pic of a BEAUTIFUL bird...I've never seen a Tanager either...but it certainly reminds me of our Iowa state bird, the American Goldfinch. TFS! That's why our GJ & gardens are so satisfying...sharing with Nature like this pic you took! Jeanne S.

Here's a pic of the grape/orange Oriole feeders that my DH makes out of old barnwood...this is a catbird that likes to feed at it, too. In the last couple wks, we've had Baltimore Orioles, Catbirds, Hummingbirds, Purple Finches that have eaten at this feeder! A beautiful reminder of Spring!

Beautiful, I haven't seen one either, but DH is the real bird watcher in our family. While camping we are always watching for a Ivory Billed Woodpecker, we think the whole sighting of one here in AR may have been a hoax.

I thought that I had posted already here. I think I have had tanagers or grosbeaks here before. I know one of those was at my hummer feeder the other day. I have a feeling the feeders empty out quickly because of the bigger birds switching out their beaks for snouts!
